HERC = Powerful Support

Power to help you succeed

Hercules was the most powerful of the Greek demigods, so giving his nickname, HERC, to our Higher Education Resource Connection website is appropriate, especially considering that this is the most powerful student support website of its kind. Our military students relate to the C-130 Hercules aircraft flying over the Parthenon, which also is nicknamed HERC.

When you log into HERC, you will be able to see first hand just how powerful this site is for our students. Every quarter, we do a complete review of the resources linked to HERC, adding new resources and revising others, so the best just keeps getting better. Your counselor at the National College Counseling Center can guide you in the use of these resources to help you succeed in your educational endeavors.

A wide array of resources for your needs

Designed to deliver what students want most

We've spent years creating and refining HERC, adding numerous resources based on feedback from our students. If you've already read the page on our site regarding the nearly 400 semester hours of tuition-free video courses that are linked to HERC, you've already heard of one of the most sought after aspects of the site. That, alone, can save students who use the resources to prepare for national college examinations thousands of dollars.

Test preparation is only one aspect of the guidance, resources, and information presented on the HERC site.  What else is on HERC? Take a look:

  • We link students to more than 75 sites that match student profiles to potential sources of scholarships and grants. Millions of students receive tens of billions of dollars in awards from the sources these sites link to each year. Each of these sites offer the service at no cost to students.

  • Struggling with difficult courses that you are taking in college? We have links to numerous sites that post more than 36,114 college courses on the web. Check out the way other professors teach the subject in which you need help. It may be the key to helping raise your score.

  • Links to more than 220 practice tests - check to see if you are ready to take the national college examination before you commit to taking the real test.

  • Links to more than a dozen and a half sources who offer discount and used college textbooks; We also link students to sites that rent college textbooks for 1/10th the cost of purchasing them. We even provide links to sites where e-books can be downloaded free of charge.

  • Introspective self-assessment sites - help for those undecided on the pathway they want to go in life and the subject area in which they want to pursue a degree.

As you can see by the button bar above, these are just a few of the hundreds of resources linked to HERC. Imagine what HERC can do for you.
